Air Conditioners Perform Better, Last Longer

Historically, air conditioners have been something of a nightmare and a villain of the home; devouring incredible amounts of energy with an excessive amount of noise and ozone-depleting refrigerants. I'm pleased to find out that many improvements have been made in previous years to the shape of fan blades and compressor technology. AC units now make 1/20th of the noise they used to make and the ozone-eating chlorine that used to be commonplace in their refrigerants has been removed.  And today, typical AC systems use 1,710 watts per hour as opposed to 6,000 watts per hour from twenty years ago, resulting in a 250% increase in energy efficiency!
