Why don't they teach us how to manage our money in school? It seems like one of the most important lessons we should be educated on. Earning your money, spending, saving, figuring out how much you need each month, it's always the pink elephant in the middle of the room. Living on my own, I've realized that I always feel more anxious about money when I don't have a strategy. Check out this blog on the basics on managing your money:
The first step is figuring out where your money goes right now. Use an online worksheet or a plain old notebook to keep track of your spending for a few weeks. Go through your checkbook and credit card statements. Add up the amounts, and you'll have a good idea about your spending habits.
