Charlie Ayers was hired by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin to be their personal chef. Forbes dives in further with this great video interview:
“I walked in on a biology project,” exclaims Charlie Ayers, Google‘s first chef as he describes the day he auditioned for founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. He was the 25th Chef to try out that day in 1999. None of the other chefs had cleaned up their stations. So, he grabbed the spray cleaner, a rag and started wiping up and washing dishes. “I think that’s why they were impressed with me,” says Ayers. “Here is this guy who’s cleaning up other people’s messes.” Plus, Brin and Page liked his food.
