Looking for some great new films to go to this weekend? Then be sure to stop by the Italian Film Festival at the Cedar/Lee movie theater. Adam Horwitz, a writer for the Cleveland Heights Patch has put together a fantastic outline of all the great events happening this week in Cleveland Heights:
CLEVELAND ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2011
Where/When: Cedar Lee Theatre/ Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: This sixth annual festival kicks off with the film Big Night, a 1996 film starring Stanley Tucci (Captain America, Lovely Bones) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) as two Italian immigrant brothers who try to open an Italian restaurant in America. The festival continues the next two Thursdays at Cedar Lee before going to the Capitol Theatre Oct. 6.

Where/When: Grog Shop/ Saturday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: One of Cleveland’s favorite cover bands performs hits from the '80s at the Grog Shop Saturday night.
Price: $5JEWISH SOLDIERS IN BLUE AND GRAY (CLEVELAND JEWISH FILMFEST)
Where/When: Cedar Lee Theatre/ Sunday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Shown as part of the Cleveland Jewish FilmFest’s second week, this 2011 documentary explores the little-known struggles that faced American Jews during the Civil War. Nearly 10,000 Jewish soldiers fought during the Civil War, with 7,000 fighting for the Union. The film also explores Gen. Ulysses Grant’s decision to expel all Jews from his territory.
