There are some weekends where you need to spend at home. Grab some great food, load up that Netflix Instant-Q and just relax. But for your Saturday or Sunday night relaxation night, why not get some top-quality food from Metropolitan Market? This one of a kind grocery store reminds me of a store you'd find on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. With their assortment of top-quality beef and fish, you will sure find something that will make the night great. My personal favorite is the pulled pork. Grab some sourdough rolls, bbq beef and a good beer and you're sure to have an amazing meal. But if this doesn't suit you, here are some other options:
Ripe and juicy key limes are flown in then carefully selected and squeezed fresh by the experts at Kenny’s. We have our fresh dairy products made to order and our rich, moist graham cracker crusts are formed in our own kitchens. Combine the finest ingredients, superior processing and twenty year passion for authentic key lime pie, and you have something truly extraordinary. Pies are frozen immediately after making to preserve freshness without additives. Great from the freezer slightly thawed. For a creamier texture, serve from the refrigerator.
2) Prime Sirloin Filet $14.99/lb
Well marbled (Graded USDA Prime) which gives better flavor and tenderness. Cut to avoid tough sinew. Cooked rare to medium rare this steak is fork tender. Season with Borsari and enjoy.
3) Scarlet Snapper $12.99/lb
In the same family as Red Snapper. Previously frozen, but incredible quality and great value. Indonesian Wild Caught. Great on the grill or pan seared on medium heat in a little oil.
4) Black Pearl Pork Chops $9.99/lb
A mix of Berkshire Hogs, and Hampshire hogs. Grade 1 Pork, usually seen only in restaurants. Selected for it’s Marbling and pH level. Our Pork’s pH is tested regularly. Proper pH levels = tenderness, juiciness, and proper color.
5) Arctic Char
Sustainably Farm Raised in Iceland. On the Monterey Bay Aquarium “best choice” list for sustainability. Light mild taste. Similar in flavor to salmon, but with the light texture of a trout. Great grilled, baked or pan seared.
The Wine:
Now time for the wine...the good stuff. Luckily once your shopping is over at Metro Market, pop down to Pat O"Brien's wine in Landerwood. With their fine selection of imported wines, this one of a kind store in Cleveland is sure to soon be your destination for all fine wine. Grab some of their amazing cheeses and see if the Ornellaia, Sassicaia or Pesquera is the right one for you!
So get your grocery shopping done, pick out a couple bottles of great wine, load up a good movie and rewind and relax this weekend!
