Dear Readers,
I know it's been awhile since I posted a Date Night, and I'm sure you were wondering how you could possibly survive a date night without my expertise! Well take a deep breathe, and get ready for a truly special date night this weekend only!
The Cleveland Orchestra today and tomorrow is presenting, what has to be, a home-run concert. Featuring the work of Beethoven and Mozart, this concert is only playing today and tomorrow, so book your tickets now! I'll provide all the information below. Here are some details about the show:
The Cleveland Orchestra's season-long cycle of Beethoven’s piano concertos continues. Composed when Beethoven was in a period of extraordinary creativity, his Fourth Piano Concerto begins softly, with a gentle theme played on the piano alone, but concludes with a bright, lovely finale that is Beethoven at his most joyous. In Mozart’s “Prague” Symphony, you can hear the 30-year-old composer pushing the symphony to its limits, transforming the orchestra into a new, modern force. The evening is rounded out with the American premiere of a substantial recent work from 2012 by German composer Jörg Widmann.

After that, go to the restaurant where all the musicians go after a show. L'Albatros Brasserie is the go-to place after the orchestra. Literally a 5 minute drive away, this spot is sure to get you in the right mood. The atmosphere is cool, hip and elegant, and the food is sublime. Owner and local celeb-chef Zack Bruell has created an elegant and modern menu that will knock your socks off. You will surely recognize Cleveland Orchestra members enjoying a good glass of red wine after a long show. Enjoy it now during restaurant week.
During this two-week celebration of fine food from award- winning Cleveland chef and restaurateur Zack Bruell, diners will have the opportunity to experience a unique three- course dinner for only $33 at each of Bruell’s restaurants: Parallax, Table 45, L’Albatros, Chinato and Cowell & Hubbard.
