I feel that every season has specific movies that open in theaters. The summer is full of those big Hollywood budget films, full of action, and usually with a bad plot. Winter brings the family-fun and mysterious films. The spring takes a break as they prepare for summer. The autumn films are the ones that are sure to bring Oscar buzz. For your date night, I highly recommend seeing The Ides of March.
This movie, directed by George Clooney, stars an A+ cast: Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti and Marisa Tomei. The Ides of March takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and-coming campaign press secretary (Ryan Gosling) finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate's shot at the presidency (Sony Pictures). As I stated before, there are some movies that deserve to be seen at specific times during the year. Being a fanatic film-buff, The Ides of March strikes me as a film that deserves to be seen in the autumn weather, tying you into the movie's feeling of political debates, nervousness, excitement, and that unsure feeling of what to expect.
