Get your sweats out, fire roaring, popcorn maker and fondue pot out, because it's going to be cozy date night today. I considered writing about a local favorite restaurant and good movie playing at The Cedar/Lee, but let's face it, with the freakishly cold and snowy weather, you're probably going to want to stay in.
That being said, here is a great Date Night in your very own home, including Captain Phillips (get it at your local RedBox or download from the iTunes store), an amazing popcorn recipe (not just butter and salt) and cheese fondue if you're feeling elegant.
Crop Bistro & Bar has an amazing popcorn recipe. This makes for a great snack while you're watching Captain Phillips. Click here for the ingredients. Below are the directions on how to make it:

So...you've got your popcorn made, now it's time for the cheese fondue. Here is a great recipe that will pair nicely with the popcorn (and there's nothing like warm food in the cold weather).
Now for the movie....Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks got stellar reviews, and seems like a great movie on a Friday night. You can pick it up at RedBox or download on iTunes. Here are some reviews, courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes:
