"I am writing to compliment your employees on a job well done. Bob was very responsive in returning phone calls from the initial contact we made to get preliminary estimates to finish our basement. The foreman was at our house almost every day for two-and-a-half weeks. His work was excellent. He finished everything on or ahead of schedule, left all of the work areas clean, and finished all of the small details to complete the job entirely. Due to the timeliness and quality of their work, we were able to enjoy our finished basement prior to the Thanksgiving holiday as promised."

  • Love A Fire But Hate The Smell of Smoke? So Do I. These Tips Came In Handy

[caption id="attachment_9679" align="alignleft" width="392"]Fireplace Cleveland Heights Fireplace Installation in Cleveland Heights[/caption]

Yesterday was a cold night. I thought it wouldn't be that bad compared to the freezing temperatures we had last week, but I guess I was wrong. Luckily, I have a great working fireplace in my living room, which is where my roommates and I spend the majority of our time. Our house is small enough that a fire can heat the downstairs, as well as some rooms on the 2nd floor. So I got my kindling out, matches and fire starters and got to work. The fire was great, just what I needed. What I didn't need was the overpowering smell of smoke and fire in my living room! It was so bad it made it's way upstairs and all the surrounding rooms on the first floor. So I did some research, and found these tips to be helpful, especially the Fabreze and air purifier.

    • Open windows and doors to get fresh air circulating throughout the house. The fresh air will provide immediate relief from the smell. You can use fans to help circulate the air.
    •  Wash any fabric on furniture or elsewhere that you can, such as couch covers, small pillows, curtains, etc.
    •  Spray products such as Febreze throughout the house. Febreze helps neutralize the smell. It can be sprayed on almost everything, including furniture.
    • Clean your carpet with a carpet-cleaning machine, which you can rent from appliance stores. The smoke and smell of fire absorbs into your carpet. The machine's suction will make a majority of the smell will go away.
    •  Thoroughly clean the area where the fire started. This is where there was the most smoke, and therefore where most of the smell comes from.
