"Thank you for a tremendous job. Through all three parts of the work I've had done this year, Reilly has come across as total classy organization. I appreciated the professionalism and courtesy of your entire crew, and of course your good humor added to the enjoyment of what could have been a real inconvenience. My neighbors are the kind of people who ask, and I'll tell them all--with a plethora of rapturous and ecstatic enthusiasm--that I couldn't have been more pleased."

  • Reilly Painting Blog welcomes Gardening & Landscape Master Bobbie Schwartz

If you are a Cleveland or Shaker Heights resident and are looking for a gardening and landscape design expert, the name Bobbie Schwartz is sure to be at the top of your list. Schwartz, the owner of Bobbie's Green Thumb, has mastered her craft in landscape and design in Cleveland. Whether you are looking for a design consultation or an expert at maintaining your garden, Bobbie's Green Thumb does it all. Schwartz will be a monthly contributor for our blog, giving us tips, advice and stories for everything landscape and design. Even though summer is nearing it's end, there still is a lot to get done in the garden. Schwartz will help us with the main points of preparing your garden and lawn for the cold months ahead, as well as some design and decorative tips for both inside your home and out.

Look for our blog stories with tips and advice from the master herself twice a month. Check out the Bobbie's Green Thumb website, which is full of so many great pages like her book reviews on landscape and design, as well as the process she uses when having a design consultation with a client.

Established in 1977 by Bobbie Schwartz, FAPLD, the business quickly earned recognition for her creativity and in-depth handling of the design process. This process begins by listening to the client's wants, needs, and aspirations. It ends in the creation of an inspired design that suits both the site and the client and is as sustainable as possible.

Bobbie's work is epitomized by certain signature elements: a passion for color, a love affair with perennials and ornamental grasses, and the creation of four-season landscapes. You can be sure that specified plants have been thoroughly trialed in real-life sites (Bobbie's garden and those of some of her clients) and, will, therefore, be well-suited to the client’s site conditions. Her specialties are master plans, renovation of overgrown landscapes, perennial gardens, shade gardens, and wet landscapes.

In the interest of sustainability, Bobbie works with her clients to reduce the amount of lawn on the property. This reduction equates with a lowering of the use of fertilizers, chemicals, and water, thus improving the environment for this generation and those to come.

Once a design is installed, Bobbie encourages her clients to enter into a contract for periodic maintenance so that the design visionevolves and matures with the plants. Because the landscape is a living entity, changes will occur and these changes can be noted and dealt with appropriately.

To increase her knowledge of gardening and design, Bobbie regularly attends horticultural and design conferences, that include lectures and garden tours. Her love of gardens has taken her around the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe on trips that provide inspiration as well as introductions to new plant material, but she is always happy to return home, ready to create inspired, magical gardens for herself and her clients.
